The global dance, music, culture and performing arts festival for peace.
September 14th to 16th 2007...
is when over 250,000 world citizens will be joining together in venues across the world for the 11th Annual Earthdance -
The Global Festival For Peace.
Earthdance, which has been called "The Dance Aid for the New Millennium," has grown into the world's largest synchronized music and
lifestyle event, and now occurs in well over 340 cities and 57 countries worldwide.
Building on last years' fabulous event Earthdance Western Australia is working in partnership with Fairbridge Village
offering the Western Australian community an opportunity to support this international event and aid the chosen local charities.
The highlight of Earthdance is a dance-floor link up, when every event across the world simultaneously plays the Prayer for Peace.
Sunday morning in Perth Australia, midnight in London, and sunrise over the Himalayas;
the Prayer for Peace is powerful unifying moment.
This profound shared experience captures the essence of Earthdance and creates a moment of deep peace and unity,
and a sense of global community. It is a moment that unifies our intentions for world peace and healing.
This year we are excited to announce a global initiative called "H2Om", where we will attempt to create the world's largest synchronized Om, directly following the global "Prayer for Peace". As we unite our intentions on healing the Earth's waters, people across the world will unite their voices to create a synchronized global Om. To increase cohesiveness and provide a specific point of focus for the global community, the "Prayer for Peace" will be immediately followed by the recording of a fundamental tone (the specific human frequency of 125hz), which will serve as a foundation for people to tune into.
In addition to this frequency that will be audible on land, we intend to transmit the same frequency (via specially designed water speakers) to the waters of several major sacred rivers throughout the world (Amazon, Ganga, Nile etc.). This gesture will be an attempt to "homeopathically resonate" the Earth's water body with our global intention, and thus unite all life, both on land and sea. We invite you all to take part in this historic event.
Earthdance is a networking project with the aim of uniting a coalition of promoters and charities from across the world that strongly believes in peace and the future of our planet. The main mission is to bring together diverse populations around the world in a synchronized celebration of peace thus recognizing the power of the Earthdance aegis of "Think Globally, Act Locally". With this in mind in 2007 Earthdance Western Australia will support City Farm's Activate Tree planting scheme, Pat Thomas Memorial House, St Patrick's Community Centre and Sisters of St Joseph's.
Our aim is to co- create a celebration that strengthens community bonds and celebrates life peace and the future of our planet through the mediums of music, technology, speech, dance, arts, healing and cultural diversity. We expect this event to evolve over time and take on its own distinct flavour and character. We will make a comfortable environment which combines safety and sanctity within the fantastic village setting of Fairbridge, for people to explore themselves and the power of rhythm and dance. A space where all are equal and all can co-exist in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
- To encourage individuality, recognising the rights of all people to their own views and inspirations.
- To lend support and create networks with other organizations that align with the vision of world peace, environmental awareness, education, healing & self expression.
This style of festival is where the organic meets digital and the ancient meets the future.
All forms of expression through performance and visual arts are welcome, as are other positive contributions. Rhythm, dance, story, ritual and the arts have been revered as powerful ways to bridge the worlds of body, mind and spirit to bring healing to the soul, connection to the planet, and strengthen bonds of the community. It is a opportunity for people to experience the healing and transformational power of these ancient traditions that lie deep in the heart of all of us. It's a chance to celebrate together, inspire and refresh our energies. As a community there is a spirit that allows us to join together and share in the communion of celebrating life.
As partners with Fairbridge we are developing a working partnership based on mutual beliefs and respect. Working together we can educate and inspire each other to create an event that reflects both our ethics and which also raises global recognition of the work Fairbridge carries out throughout the year. Together we aim to grow Earthdance over the years into an important event on the Western Australian cultural calender. We aim to raise money to support local groups as well as benefiting causes close to Fairbridge's heart. Fairbridge Western Australia Incorporated is a non-profit charitable youth and environmental organisation and provides services to all young people of Western Australia. We are fine-tuning and gathering ideas, as we build up contacts and resources along with community momentum to create an event of wonder and joy. We are encouraging new ideas and expressions of interest, that will add to the entertainment and enjoyment of all.
