The green futures area reflects one of the central themes of Earthdance: sustainability, renewability and recycling.
There are four main components to this space: the green market, the green forum, campaigns stalls and demonstrations.
In the green market you will find ethical products designed for individuals rather than the McCulture that dominates our City centres. Creative people offer items they have made, enterprising recyclers have gathered weird and wonderful secondhand clothes and household articles. In addition you can munch on organic veggies and support local green businesses.
The Green Forum provides a space for discussion and debate on a diverse range of subjects and issues, looking at how we can reach a future based on the principles of justice and sustainability. A future which respects the rights of human and non-human inhabitants of the planet. A future that preserves the fragile eco-system on which we all depend. We will be debating and discussing a range of issues. Watch this space for further information.
The campaign stalls are a mine of useful information. Find out about what Greenpeace is up to, how to make bio-diesel, how to Stop the Sea Swaps, join the Wilderness Society, campaign against nuclear power.
Demonstrations: come and try and learn for yourself, whether beginner of expert. You can sit in on workshops or simply sit and gawp. True freedom comes with the ability to create your own self-sufficiency.
If you would like to get involved with the green futures area by holding a stall or running a workshop, demonstration or seminar, please read the Terms and Conditions first and then signup on the application form. If you would like to volunteer to help out with keeping the area running, please apply on the volunteers application
