Community arts space

The COMMUNITY ART SPACE is a creative and resourceful activities area for all ages.

This year the area focuses on the FIVE ELEMENTS.

An interactive Enviro-sound sculpture, made of recycled materials will be on display to be interacted with and incorporated in an ‘Evolutionary Orchestra’ which captures the evolution of music.

Personalization and identity will be given to the Enviro-sound sculpture by forming a mosaic of large emblems and tiles with the Earthdance Logo, these workshops will run on Saturday 15th September.

Another project for the Earthdance community will be to help decorate an enormous ‘Water Spirit’ creature on Saturday 15th September. This workshop runs for the whole day. Recycled materials will  bring form to the ‘water spirit’ and will provide a sculptural experience for the younger community, while also getting  families and friends involved in creating a spectacular float that will be seen within the festival environment.

Keep an eye out for the Fire Sculpture that will come alive at the amphitheatre on Saturday night, capturing the FIRE element in the form of a.......you’ll have to come and see....

The Community Art Space this year really aims at extending the Earthdance legacy into the wider community through the artistic contributions of the Earthdance community;

This year The Community Art Space has received funding from Community Arts Network Western Australia (CANWA).

CANWA manages this fund on behalf of The State of Western Australia through the Department of Culture and the Arts (ArtsWA), and through the Community Arts Network.
