The Kids' Space at Earthdance 2007 will feature a diverse range of workshops for kids of all ages. In addition to the workshops, the space will offer face/body painting, storytelling, woodworking, and a disco to herald the end of the day on Saturday and Sunday!
Experienced workshop facilitators will guide children in the creation of personalised artworks that reflect the environmental underpinnings of Earthdance, utilising recycled materials wherever possible. Also, to increase the relevance the 2007 theme of 'Honouring Water' for children, many workshops will incorporate a water theme. Workshops will run from 10 am til 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with short breaks during which "Extreme Storytelling" will take place in the Chill Corner of the Kids' Space.
Activities will include Clay Water Creatures, Felt Fish Placemats, Water Serpent Wristbands/Bracelets, Fire Dancing Techniques, and a SPECIAL WORKSHOP where Recycled Costumes and Signs will be created with the opportunity to wear/involve them in a *spectacular* performance on Saturday. AND MORE!!!!!
Disco DJ "T.P. Sam" will ring in the day's end on Saturday and Sunday with specially-selected tunes designed to delight parents and kids alike, from parents' halcyon days.
Co-ordinated by experienced Kids' Art teacher, Kirsty McIntosh, and featuring involvement by T.P. Sam (local DJ and father), Gina Knight (Community Art Workshop Facilitator and repeat Earthdance Kids' Space Collaborator), Louise Snook (local felt Artist), Penny Scull (Fremantle Artist, Craftsperson and mother), Jeanette (Choreographer and Creator of Saturday's collaborative performance), and Anisa Hirte (widely exhibited local Artist and Art Teacher), this year's Kids' Space is sure to be a cranking, creative, classy, clever corner of Earthdance!
Can't wait to see you there!
