Richard Blacker, a home-grown dweller of the East Coast of Australia, has been into music since he was 6 years old. As a classically trained musician playing the likes of the violin, viola, cello, guitar and bass guitar, he had a natural progression into dj’ing and electronic music production…

Djing for the past 13 years, being heavily influenced by 6 years of living-experience in the rapidly evolving psychedelic trance scene of Tokyo, this passion has grown into a rich, diverse, well-orchestrated, tribal, funky and deeply unique sound that is now being recognized both nationally and internationally! Having played at many well-renowned festivals in Australia such as the closing sets of the Rainbow Serpent Festival in 2004/2005/2006/2007 (VIC), Earthdance 2001-2006 (NSW), Tribeadelic NYE gatherings 2003/2004/2005/2006 (VIC), Erisian Fields Festival 2005 (NSW), Akasha Festival 2006 (VIC), Winter Solstice Gathering 2007 (QLD) and Bushweek 2007 (QLD) to name but a few, he has also had the opportunity to take his sound interstate and overseas rocking places such as Melbourne, Cairns, Perth, Byron Bay, Kophangan (thailand), Dharamsala, Delhi (India) and Okinawa (Japan’s south island).

Whilst playing regularly at many outdoor events across the country he also produces music under the same name EEGOR. Amanaska

One World recording artist Amanaska aka Simon has recently supported world music icon Talvin Singh and his album 'Circles' has received widespread critical praise for its consummate melding of world and electronic influences. Circles is a cultural feast of eclectic music for lovers of world fusion. Simon Lewis of Amanaska has created a global musical masterpiece that was recorded in the UK, USA, India and Melbourne. This mid to down tempo album is a richly layered musical experience that blends organic sounds and electronica with worldly and spiritual influences. A supreme mix of female and male vocals and ethnic harmonies with beautiful string arrangements alongside earthy percussive elements and moody hypnotic rhythms and beats.

From the Australian East Coast, to the venues of London, the metros of Paris and the clubs of Mumbai, India, Audio Shaman had been on a journey through musical styles, studying and absorbing the origins of music in a wide range of cultures.

"I’m still not sure what the final outcome will be", says Paul George, Flamenco guitarist. "But it feels like a journey to discover the way music from different cultures can blend with each other to form something unique and complete."

It’s been a long journey for a lad from Surfers Paradise who took up the guitar at 11 years old. His unique take on flamenco guitar has since been featured on a large array of compilation albums including Cafe Del Mar, Ministry of Sound and Art of Zen.

Under Paul’s guitar lies a bed of ambient and lounge production spear headed by the other half of the act Carey O'Sullivan "although I have a hand in the production and writing", says Paul. “When things get to technical it's usually Carey who gives it clarity“. “I never thought of making a living from music” Carey says. But I’ve ended up doing nothing else my entire life , now nothing else could satisfy me.

What satisfies today is a journey both physical and musical through Australia, Europe and Asia and the opportunity to play in such widely diverse environments as clubs in Britain, the rainforests in Goa, in southern India, and now (for a while at least) back home in Australia.

Audio Shamans music moves stylishly from Middle Eastern and Latin sound scapes using classical guitar to more familiar western sounds of Ambient and hip hop beats. And it seems to happen without effort as one reviewer has written: Paul’s fingers slither tastefully over Gypsy scales and broken beats.

With an extraordinary proficiency in a wide range of styles has come a clear focus and the search for a lifestyle to suit their desire to travel has ended

Tijuana Cartel

Tijuana Cartel, introduce a somewhat intelligent and original sound to the ear, bringing flamenco guitar, slide guitar, MCs, percussion, soaring female vocals and scratch DJs to the live forum and their list of shows and residencies proves just how well their beguiling sounds cross boundaries.

Spanish guitars didn’t exactly go with funky beats the way fish go with chips, however the Tijuana Cartel are showing the world just how good the combo can sound.

Vocalist and lead guitarist Paul George’s flamenco strings slither over some tastefully broken beats, combined with Carey O’Sullivan’s primo electronic production, and rhythm guitar, have resulted in the bands two albums. First was a self-titled 2003 debut ep, which was featured on triple j's Home and Hosed, and Groove Train, and now their 2006 follow up album Frequent Flyers has evolved.

There live performance brings splashes of Middle Eastern vocals to the mix, alongside some lilting Moby-esque soundscapes and get-up-and-dance beatfests - a club-friendly selection without a dull moment.

Flow Dynamics

From Moscow to London, New York to Rome, and Berlin to Paris, Australian producer Flow Dynamics has been creating boogie fever and booty havoc on dancefloors across the globe. Fusing live musicians with a pile of electronics and sampling, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave McKinney has proved to be a musical force on the world stage. When the first run of Flow Dynamics vinyl singles were released on Freestyle Records (UK), Funk Weapons (US) and Invada Records (AUS), the reaction was immediate with many of the world's top DJs spinning Dave's tunes.

Indijika are a live ambient dance music act producing a fusion of acoustic tribal rhythms, spacious electronic melodies and big earthy beats. Using both technology and traditional instruments bringing elements of our past and our future into the moment.

Jesse started playing guitar in his early teens forming a band called Shadow Dancer and during that time discovered djembe and didgeridoo among many other instruments. Since then he has travelled throughout the globe absorbing music and culture wherever he found himself and performing at events such as the total solar eclipse in Zambia 2001 and back at home, Earthdance 2004 here in Perth. In recent years Jesse has been performing his own solo acoustic sounds as the Jesse Tree Project and provides all of the organic instrumentation to be found on Indijika recordings and in their live show.

Alan's performance history goes back to first being switched on by the big outdoor party sounds while travelling in India in 1995. Starting his career in performance as a fire artist he went on to travel for the next ten years, performing in Europe first, then America's, Asia and Australasia as part of The Flaming Butterflies and more recently his own solo fire and music project The Paraffinalien. Inspired by the tribal Goa sound, Alan started mixing and editing music in an effort to create the perfect trance fire dance sound track for his show. Getting more and more into the mixing side of the music, started dj'ing and leading to the present day producing and doing the electronic sounds and computer sequencing side of Indijika.

Saritah Since the release of her debut album 'gratitude', Saritah has toured Australia constantly, performing at some of the country's major festivals and venues as well as touring internationally. Bringing a potent blend of melody, message and groove, Saritah's positive conscious roots sound will uplift and inspire.

Zigatango

Specialising in Argentinean Tango and fiery Gypsy melodies Zigatango bring a raw, wild intensity to their performances which is hard to resist! The young Perth musicians have experience in styles from classical to rock and their approach to the traditional Tango and Gypsy styles is fresh and youthful, with arrangements reflecting their diverse skills on accordion, violin, viola, guitar, cello and keyboard. Combine this with the talents of one of Australia's most dazzlingly gifted young jugglers and you get a unique entertainment experience - a must for anyone with a taste for the exciting and unusual!

Matt Gresham When it comes to soulful tunes that will make any person hum and get moving Matt Gresham has it down to a T. Matt Gresham first became interested in the music scene at the age of 13 where he had seen a close friend play acoustic styled music, since then Matt has grown into a full blown musician himself. Now 4 years later Matt is becoming known around the Perth music scene as the next big thing. Matt has many influences which have impacted on his sound and personality with music. Some of Matt's musical influences have come from Ben Harper and Bob Marley. Matt has now created his own vibe with his many instruments which includes guitar, djembe, tongue drum, didgeridoo, harmonica, symbols and stomp box. Matt has supported such names as Blue Shaddy, Wolfmail and blues award winners The Brian Fraiser Trio. You could describe Matt’s music as raw real Australian, blues, roots, reggae and a jazzy mellow. Matt has a wide variety of songs which are soulful, mellow, fun, energetic and playful. The music he plays will get anyone up dancing or singing along.

Mo Mo wear many eclectic influences on their musical sleeves. From traditional Celtic music to Soweto inspired melodies and rhythms via contemporary soul and roots, this duo use percussive guitar, violin and harmonies to weave their musical tapestry. As much as possible, performances are interactive with audience members encouraged to bring along small musical or percussive instruments to join in when and if the mood takes.

Laliya is an instrumental hybrid of new acoustic and subtle world fusion, creating an atmospheric soundscape with the technique known as ‘two hand tapping’ on the Dulcimer, combined with rhythmic and percussive beats. A truly unique, and transcendent auditory experience. James originally hails from Ireland, but had a calling some eighteen years ago to travel and experience a little of what is out there. He now resides in Western Australia, where he originally met his partner in crime Melissa. James has been playing and performing in many different musical outfits and guises over the past two decades. Melissa is from Perth, Western Australia. She was drawn to percussion, and in particular the djembe. Melissa has been involved in performance since the early nineties, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts at Murdoch University in Perth. Since graduating, she has been traveling and performing in Laliya.

With an unbelievable vocal range, down to earth humour and a backing band made up of some of the finest west Australian musicians, Freya's performances will leave you uplifted and with tapping feet firmly in festive mode!

Selk Hastings and Brendon Humphries

Selk Hastings and Brendon Humphries are two Fremantle singer-songwriters, happily engaged, who quite literally met through their music. They perform acoustically together drawing on a strong love of traditional folk, melancholic poetry and sweet and savage song.

Dave Johnson

Dave Johnson is a seasoned singer song writer who has traversed many miles and had many musical incarnations.(The Fling, Carus) His voice is powerful, silken and emotive. His songs conjure frailties and foibles.

Khin Myint

Khin's soulful voice and disarming vulnerability have been capturing hearts since his first release in 05. Songwriting that explores the gritty and the joyful, he’s been touring and playing big festivals around the country since, recently releasing a second CD ‘People & Sex & Living in Little Towns’.

Twiggy

Twiggy blends sweet melodic melancholy sounds of truth with the deep driving reasonace of emotion, that disrupts and challenges your views on the traditional ballad. Twiggy first begun performing on the street, where music as her sole means of survival and has now taken her music to a space where vulnerability is exposed and showcased in order to bring light to a dark space. First and foremost a poet, with words as a way to express, release and heal, come join Twiggy on a personal journey into the human psyche.

Loren Kate

Music is therapy for NSW independent singer/songwriter Loren Kate. Introspective lyrics, mixed with her haunting voice and guitar playing, create the unique earthern acoustic sound that is Loren Kate. Loren's beautifully crafted melodies are performed with such honesty, passion and intimacy that will leave any listener stimulated and inspired.

Sneaky Weasel Gang

The Sneaky Weasel Gang are a 4 piece outfit hailing from Mandurah. The lads combine clean rhythmic guitars with a traditional drum and bass rhythm section, to create a sound that is spacious, organic and down right funky! Combining elements of blues, reggae and pop in a musical mix that is both original & varied, the weasels are sure to have the dance floor grooving.

Craig Sinclair

Craig Sinclair blends a crisp fingerstyle slide guitar style and soulful voice with an articulate but down to earth stage presence. From timeless blues through to contemporary folk and foot-stomping bluegrass; these songs inspire hope and compassion.

Justin Walshe

Justin Walshe is from Melbourne and more recently Fremantle, where he fronts The Justin Walshe Folk Machine - a lyric driven, harmony laden folk/country extravaganza. He walks the line between sentiment and sarcasm playing with words while he plays his guitar and harmonica.

Jeff Strong

Filling out his 2006-2007 tax return will be difficult task for one Jeff Strong. Those twelve months saw the purveyor of ‘city and western’ take his music to most of Australia in one form or another. Fresh from an acclaimed album release, (Album of the week - Drum Media) his music is raw and spontaneous country charged with politics and humour.

T. P. Sam

T.P.Sam was an integral part of the dawn of the W.A. trance scene. He is known for sets that are journeys through many musical styles. Breakbeats, ambient builds and a distinctly tribal feel are trademarks of a T. P. Sam show.

Gaiatribe

Gaiatribe is Martin Phillps’ electronic debut. A favourite drummer with percussion based bands in Fremantle for the last 12 years he now exposes his other love, the doof scene, unleashing an eclectic collection of electro, world and psytrance laden dance tracks semi-narrated with spoken word samples from sources above and below ground in popular media. Stacey Walden brings gorgeous vocals and hand percussion to the mix as well as Tammy Bennet on Roto toms and percussion. The Gaiatribe experience for Earthdance will be spiced up with special guest performers from the festival and greater Freakmantle. Gaiatribe speaks beyond Nationhoods and embraces a new global citizenship. Martin recently played percussion for Ganga Giri and has also performed with Sean Candy aka AB Digereedoo Oblivion. He currently performs with Dunumba and Shangara Jive.

aRTy Ms Aerial Street Show.

Watch out for the new breed on the streets! International Aerialist and 'rigger chick' Theaker von Ziarno is insanely solo and divinely determined to re enchant the every day. This girl ran away from the circus of the fine arts to create 'aRTy Ms', one of the very few 'aerial street' shows working the world of busking. Take heart, she hula hoops fire then performs breathtaking stunts high in the air on aerial silks and static trapeze.

Mischief	Originally from England, MisChief trained as a classical violinist and singer prior to spending several years exploring the underground club movement in London while working as a journalist. In the late 90's she moved to the south coast, stumbled across the psy trance free party scene in the Brighton area, and soon started working as an organiser and designer. A increasing realisation of the iniquities of life led to her getting involved in peace and environmental activism while trancing her way around Europe, Africa and the east coast of Australia before making WA her home base. MisChief has a penchant for fine psy trance, playing a wonderfully refreshing mix of deep electro dance music with a touch of violin blended in here and there to spice things up a bit.
Jelli	After discovering the sounds of psytrance at a 3 day festival in 2000 not far from his home town of Ballarat, Jelli soon became obsessed with the music and started collecting. Not until he moved to Perth only a few years ago did he find that his love for the music, and his large collection got him behind the decks. Jelli can be heard playing a range of different styles from progressive to full-on, from underground to chillout.
Tafkas	The Artist Formerly Known as Sven has been an hooked on electronic music since he was old enough to afford a tape recorder. Thanks to the efforts of a group of his scaly mates, he happened across the underground trance party scene and fell in love with the music, the people and the ethos. With a range of tastes from ambient grooves through to deep nighttime trance, you can expect that he'll always keep it vaguely imaginary.
Jesse Jaymes	Jesse Jaymes dj sets take you on a journey, consisting of funky, dirty, ambient sounds that connect with the soul. His journeys have taken him to London, Bournemouth, Birmingham and interstate Australia, playing along side some of the worlds best djs, sharing his music with those who are willing to take a journey on the dance floor.
cinders	cinder… as the better paradigm for what I call the trace – something that erases itself totally, radically, while presenting itself. Out of Perth’s hills find the trace, cinder who loves the trajectory of sounds and bodies in space coiling and colliding with the rhythm that presents. Has been known to play a wide range of sounds from experimental electronica to hip hop to chanting to drum and bass to masters milk commercial. Expect a mix of phat, phunkay stompin breaks with a heavy sprinkle of base from cinder for Earthdance 07.
B-psyd	From the third mist past the bridge on the Blackwood River in our southwest comes a love of all music. B-psyd serves a shot of Fairtrade Expresso with a melt of bitter sweet dark chocolate and a psyd of psoy cream. Deep minimal progressive in nature though known to forage a diverse range of emotive sound cover.
