This year's West Australian Earthdance Festival will be held at 'Marshall Rock Nature Reserve' near the wheatbelt town of Bencubbin, around 3 hrs drive North East of Perth. It promises to be a wonderful weekend of camping out with your mates and enjoying two stages wth some of Australia's finest dj's and producers well as performers, market stalls and visual arts. Following the ethos of 'Think Global & Act Local', 50% of the ticket sale profits from this years event will go towards local projects in the Shire of Mt Marshall where the event is taking place. The focal point of the Earthdance global gathering, 'The Prayer for Peace', will take place at 7 o'clock our time on the Sunday morning, where we will join with hundreds of thousands of people around the globe to focus our intention for change. We encourage everyone to be present for this powerful unifying moment.

The Prayer For Peace

Earthdance this year will be a grass roots, environmental and back to basics, electronic and acoustic dance music weekend for people of all ages, persuasions and backgrounds. We hope to see you there and welcome you to be a part of the tribe this year to give peace a dance !

Location
Camping with your vehicle on site is permitted and is included in the ticket price. There are also rooms available at the Bencubbin Hotel Contact Mark on 96851201 re; booking enquiries. Ice, beer, meals, etc. are also available at the hotel. Ice, take away food and general supplies are available from the general store. There is also a cafe serving real coffee and food. The site is situated 7km from town.

Directions
This is the most direct route, is a nice drive and also has the least amount of traffic. From Perth/Fremantle, go to Midland and then take the Toodyay Rd off the Roe Hwy and go ...
Toodyay > Goomaling > Dowerin > Wyalkatchem > Trayning > Bencubbin
Suggestions...stop in at Coorinja Winery 6km on the right before Toodyay and buy ginger wine, fuel up in Goomaling if you need to - Goomaling is last LPG if you're that way inclined (there is fuel in Bencubbin also, sometimes Eftpos only), stop in at Dowerin roadhouse, don't order "Absolutely Nothing" off the menu, it costs $64.00 and you get absolutely nothing for it. Their chips are pretty good though and are not as expensive.
With a couple short stops on the way, the trip should take you 3hrs from Perth or Fremantle. When you arrive at Bencubbin, go into town, have a look around, stock up on stuff you want, go back out the way you came in and take the Bencubbin ~ Mukinbudin Rd (Koorda ~ Bullfinch Rd) towards Mukinbudin, go 5km and then turn right down the Marshall Rock Rd, go 2km and you will arrive at Marshall Rock Nature Reserve, the site for Earthdance 2008.

If driving is a bit of a trial, a bus trip is being organised. The bus will leave 175 Hay Street - East Perth at 5pm on 25/09/09 and will be back on the 27/09/09 at 4pm. The tickets are available on Wellington Street 1020/16 - Australian Center - More information 9321 2444(week days) or 0421378092 (weekends) - Emerson.

Please note that this trip is not organised by Earthdance WA, and any questions, comments, or issues will need to be directed to Emerson at the above contact details.
Pricing for the bus trip will be as follows - inclusive of Earthdance tickets, return bus trip and camping.

  • Until 4/09 - $120
  • Until 15/09 - $150
  • Until 20/09 - $180
